My artistic and professional studies took place at the Istituto Statale D’Arte at L’Aquila and Valenza Po. The institute at Valenza Po was one of the most important districts for the jewelry industry in Italy, where the students could get a professional teaching degree in Goldsmithing The Institute of Art is divided into the following fields of study:
- Art Metalworking and Goldsmithing: the plan of study is divided into three years of course work, (at the Istituto Statale d’Arte dell’Aquila) at the end of which time the students receive a teaching degree in Art. This is followed by two years of an experimental course, (at the Istituto Statale D’Arte in Valenza Po ) which ends with the Graduation Exam. The students receive an advanced degree.
- The degree of artistic teacher allows graduates the possiblity to train others in goldsmith companies and to work on projects.
- The degree obtained with the Graduation Exam after the last year of the course permits theg raduate to train others in goldsmith’s companies and to project and/or execute more complex jobs. It also allows the graduate access to the Academy of Arts or other universities.
